Rules
- Your embouchure must remain firm and set throughout the exercise.
- Breathe in tempo on beat 4, closing your lips at the top of the breath. You must be prepared to play any pitch.
- A random pitch will be displayed on the "and of four." Play this pitch on the next beat for a full crotchet.
- Remove the instrument from your face on beat one, keeping your embouchure firm and set.
- Repeat.
Tips
- Practise with a mixture of "breath attacks" (no tongue) and traditional (tongued) entries.
- Practise on the mouthpiece alone with the reference pitch turned on.
