Usage statistics and privacy
Poper's Game is a free educational application. It records limited first-party usage events such as page visits, completed practice sessions, instrument, difficulty and summary accuracy totals to measure the app's reach and improve its teaching value.
These basic statistics are recorded without an analytics cookie or permanent guest-device identifier. Individual events have random IDs to avoid duplicates. For signed-in players, an internal account number is stored with analytics events to count distinct players by country. Email addresses are never stored in analytics events.
For geographic reporting, the server looks up the visitor's country using the IP address and stores only the country code in event statistics. For guests, it also uses the IP address and browser information transiently to generate a one-way daily identifier for approximate daily visitor counting. Those temporary identifiers are deleted after three days; only aggregate country/day estimates are retained. No raw IP address, full browser identifier, precise location or microphone recording is saved in analytics tables. Ordinary hosting access logs may be retained separately by the host.
Microphone recordings and individual pitch samples are never included in analytics. When you sign in, your practice history and settings are handled separately by the account cloud-sync system.
Analytics may be unavailable while offline; this never prevents playing or saving practice locally. Guest daily estimates cannot identify the exact number of people using the app, and sums across several days are not unique visitors for the entire period. IP changes, shared networks and privacy tools can affect these estimates.
